Forrester Research Inc. Shares the Love - It MUST be Valentine's

We are touched.

Forrester, in their January 5th 2010 issue, did a few pages on SasS but more specifically the several types of system integrators offering skills in SaaS from small specialists, to offshore Firms and MNCs.

How does this pertain to SADA?

Under the subheading "SaaS Specialist firms" Forrester discusses Google, and "its increasingly popular Google Apps offering, [which] has attracted the attention of specialists like...SADA Systems."

Here @SADASystems we are thrilled that Forrester, a top Forbes 200 -Fastest Growing Company for five consecutive years, noticed our hard work and pursuit of perfection and client satisfaction. We greatly appreciated the mention as a Google Apps Specialist and felt the love.

Delegation and Single Sign On supported in latest version of Google Apps Sync for Outlook

Google's latest release, Version 1.7, of their Apps Sync tool for Microsoft Outlook increases it's capabilities with new features.

Single Sign On is now supported by Google Apps Sync for Outlook. "When you log in, you have the option to log in with your Google Apps account and password, or instead use your company's SSO authentication if they have enabled that option." (Google)

Now when you delegate your email and calendar in Google Apps, the person you delegated to has the ability to handle messages, calendar events, answer emails, and create and respond to invitations on your behalf, all from Microsoft's Outlook client.

Law Offices Website Gets the SADA Touch

SADA launches updated website for the law offices of Newman, Aaronson, and Vanaman (NAV).

NAV is a law firm in Southern California that has been providing legal assistance to children with disabilities, and to families with disabled members, since 1981. NAV was initially one of SADA's managed services clients, and they became a web development client as well. Their website, initially created by SADA, provided an adequate online resource for clients and

potential clients. Over time the original website, like any website, grew outdated. Some content on the website was no longer relevant, and the techniques used to create it, while leading edge

at the time, are now obsolete. The time had come to re-create the look of NAV online.

When NAV approached SADA to redesign their website they asked for updates that would allow them to do two new things. They would be able to update the website on their own. In addition they wanted the ability to stream video answers to questions received from clients, and visitors to their websites.

To provide the needed functionality SADA proposed developing the updated website on the Joomla Content Management System (CMS). To keep cost and development time low, SADA also recommended using an existing template. SADA and NAV worked together to select a template and ensure the existing web host would be able to accommodate the updated websites open-source platform.

The final product provides NAV with vastly upgraded functionality, and opens the website to them in a way that may not have been doable even just a few years ago. Some improvements include:

• Javascript driven slideshow header on the home page.
• Updated media page featuring an updated photo gallery.
• NAV has the ability to edit website content through the front end.
• A new, updated look and layout.
• A question & answer page featuring video answers to questions.

SADA Goes Social with Facebook

In a list of all the major success stories in technology for the past five years it would be a serious error to overlook or ignore the growth and influence of social networking. The term social networking generally refers to an online community of individual users who share common interests, activities, or hobbies. The concept of social networking, namely providing an online space where people could share information with each other on a variety of topics goes back to the beginning of the Internet. Early bulletin board services provided a space where users could publish posts on a favorite interest, activity, or hobby. Over time these spaces evolved and became more sophisticated, as the Internet ceased to be a largely text-driven series of online bulletin boards, and became a highly visual and interactive experience. Now the bulletin boards of twenty years ago have given way to the social network services of today. Services in this category include:

SADA recently joined the ranks of users who share photos, opinions, interests, and more with one another using the online service, Facebook. SADA chose Facebook for its clean look, ease of use, customization features, and popularity. Our page on Facebook provides a place where our clients can meet, learn about each other, even start a potentially beneficial and lucrative relationship. Facebook provides a number of small web-based applications that customize the user experience on our page. We have configured our Facebook page to show video content created by SADA (most recently this was a video of the SADA team singing happy birthday to one of our own). Our blog is automatically fed to the page on Facebook through RSS. We even have a few albums of photos for our clients to peruse, and get to know the team at SADA a little better.

What does this mean to you? More and more applications like Facebook, like Google Apps, like Mint are taking the place of applications that have traditionally been run from the desktop. Facebook allows those of you with whom we may work on a regular basis, but have never met in person, to put a face with a name in an email, or a voice on the other end of a teleconference. Facebook provides our clients, friends, and fans with a new and unique means of contacting SADA.
