Law Offices Website Gets the SADA Touch

SADA launches updated website for the law offices of Newman, Aaronson, and Vanaman (NAV).

NAV is a law firm in Southern California that has been providing legal assistance to children with disabilities, and to families with disabled members, since 1981. NAV was initially one of SADA's managed services clients, and they became a web development client as well. Their website, initially created by SADA, provided an adequate online resource for clients and
potential clients. Over time the original website, like any website, grew outdated. Some content on the website was no longer relevant, and the techniques used to create it, while leading edge
at the time, are now obsolete. The time had come to re-create the look of NAV online.

When NAV approached SADA to redesign their website they asked for updates that would allow them to do two new things. They would be able to update the website on their own. In addition they wanted the ability to stream video answers to questions received from clients, and visitors to their websites.

To provide the needed functionality SADA proposed developing the updated website on the Joomla Content Management System (CMS). To keep cost and development time low, SADA also recommended using an existing template. SADA and NAV worked together to select a template and ensure the existing web host would be able to accommodate the updated websites open-source platform.

The final product provides NAV with vastly upgraded functionality, and opens the website to them in a way that may not have been doable even just a few years ago. Some improvements include:
  • Javascript driven slideshow header on the home page.
  • Updated media page featuring an updated photo gallery.
  • NAV has the ability to edit website content through the front end.
  • A new, updated look and layout.
  • A question & answer page featuring video answers to questions.

SADA Launches New Look for Joe Cocker's Website

The website of rock icon Joe Cocker gets a new look to go with new features including a lyrics library taken from the Cocker's full musical catalog.

Joe Cocker is a legend. To say less would be a disservice to the contributions that he has made in defining rock and blues for four decades. From the mean streets of Sheffield, where he got his start, to the halls of Washington D.C. where he performed at the inauguration ceremony for President George H. W. Bush, to his home on Mad Dog Ranch in Colorado, Joe Cocker brings a unique and powerful voice.

SADA is happy and proud to announce the launch of the newly redesigned website for Joe Cocker, www.cocker.com. The original website, also proudly created by SADA, was a feature rich and entertaining website, providing fans of Cocker with a landing place on the web for years. After a while, though, the website started to show its age as new designs and techniques surpassed those that had been cutting edge when the website was first created. To refresh the look of the site for a modern audience, and using modern design ideas, SADA worked closely with Joe Cocker's representatives from Mad Dog touring to bring a whole new look and level of interactivity to the website.

The look of the website is evocative of a smoky dive bar with peeling felt on the walls, and an old school jukebox in the corner spinning selections from Ray Charles and Chuck Berry. As true to the soul of rock and blues as Joe Cocker is himself. The look is vintage, but the features are modern. Updates to website mean that fans can listen to their favorite songs, selected from across Cocker's vast discography as they browse. An animated notebook contains excerpts from Joe Cocker, with a Little Help From My Friends: The Authorized Biography complete with photos of Cocker through various stages of his career. The photo gallery has been redesigned to give the feeling of sorting through a personal selection of photos that might have been taken while on tour with Cocker himself. Each photo providing a glimpse into his life and career. Fans may also look up lyrics to songs on all of Cocker's albums.

The redesign of Joe Cocker's website marks one of SADA's most ambitious design projects to date. SADA worked hard to create a website that was evocative of the musician and his music, while providing an intuitive, easy-to-navigate user experience. We were supported in this effort by representatives of Mr. Cocker from Mad Dog Touring. Cocker's representatives provided us with the music, photos, and creative flexibility necessary to develop what SADA hopes will be a favorite destination for fans of Joe Cocker for years to come.

SADA Launches New Website Built Entirely on Google Sites

January 7, 2009-North Hollywood, CA:SADA Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce the beta release of the first major revision to their website in three years. The new website was in development for most of the last half of 2008. To streamline the website and make the content as immediately available to clients and website visitors as possible SADA elected to develop it entirely in Google Sites. Google Sites is a rich website creation solution that is part of the Google Apps suite of "software-as-service" products. Google Sites is a powerful, cloud-based communication and collaboration platform.

Building the site on the Google Sites platform provides SADA with the opportunity to explore the development of unique Google Gadgets some of which can currently be experienced on the website. It is SADA's intention that especially useful or practical gadgets developed for the website will be made available to the public in the future.

“Why would a company who has web designers and developers on staff use Google Sites for their own website," says Tony Safoian, president and CEO of SADA, "Simply because their time is better spent doing custom client work, and this new platform allows our marketing team to update our own website instantly and, without burning very expensive development hours." Safoian's comment refers to making the ability to update the website accessible to anybody within SADA's organization. Updates to content, images, even videos no longer have to go through a web designer to be applied. There is no code to edit, and no special knowledge is required. SADA hopes this will ultimately mean the website is constantly being updated with fresh content, and there will always be something new on the website that will keep website visitors coming back.

Google Sites provides a search box for all of their pages. This means that all content, on every page of SADA's new site is a searchable term. Visitors to SADA's website who are unsure how to find an article, or page, or specific content may enter search terms in the search box provided on the website. Google's own search engine then crawls the website and returns pages with content matching the visitor’s request. SADA hopes this will help make the new site easier to navigate, and more meaningful to website visitors.
